audio is extremely important in any media, especially games. there have been a lot of soundtracks throughout the years that fill people with a variety of emotions for example:
Halo
the halo soundtrack is composed and produced by Martin ODonnell and Michael Salvatori for bungie, the soundtrack was released on june 11, 2002. Most of the music from halo: combat evolved is present on the CD.
the classic halo theme, which got you exited for fight, showing that the hero has arrived to solve the problem or relieving a new area in the game waiting for the player to start exploring it,
the video below shows what i mean about the halo theme:
Skyrim
skyrim features a fully orchestrated and original score similar to oblivion, which a lot of games simply don't do anymore. the game's main theme was recorded with a choir of over thirty people, singing in the fictional dragon language. the creative director of this famous theme was Todd Howard.
this theme is played at the main menu making the player get in the mindset that he'she is about to go on an amazing adventure, the theme is also played in key points of the main story line, for example fighting a dragon.
the Witcher 2
now this was nearly impossible to find one song that stood out in the Witcher 2 however if i had to pick one it'll have to be the cinematic theme at the main menu, where it introduces us to the bald bad ass villain Letho of Gulet also known as the King-slayer slaughtering the kings guard on a party boat then eventually killing the king on there.
the theme is amazing because it goes from classical music to heavy rock with zero effort.
Spec Ops: The Line
now this was difficult to decide which theme i should use from spec ops the line, because each one is just as intense as the last however at the end i decided to use the truth revealed. spoiler alert:
the truth revealed sound tacked is played at one of the final scenes of the game where our crazy friend Captain martin walker finally realizes everything and excepts the truth of the situation his in.
