Production - Part 2

Production - Part 2

after making the models, characters, ai movement and the climbing system we moved on to adding elements into our game that would make it more interesting, for example we made a new track from scratch and added it in unique ways into our game, we also made extra elements like fog.

music

firstly, i created the music with help from tom, to make these two track we had to use a simple item called alesis which is a drum pad and a keyboard combined after we learned how to use this item with the help from our teachers we began making the first track using soundation and at first we struggled making this as we didn't know how to make game music to this level but after a while we managed to produce and make the main track of our game.

after creating the song on soundation we next had to mix it into the game in a few different ways one of these ways was adding a sound cue which would enrich the game this is because a sound cue is an assert that allows you to manipulate multiple sounds and combining them. we created a sound cue by mixing three different sounds into a concatenator and showing the output, this allowed the player to hear the track only at certain points of the map.

Fog

to create the fog we simple used the atmospheric and the volumatric fog options on unreal engine this simple feature added a beautiful element to ourr game as seen from the camera pan in the video below.

as you can see from that video some elements we really wanted to add in did not make it into the game for various reasons, one of which where the character models this didn't make it in because as hard as we tried we could not add the skin onto unreal engine as it kept removing or morphing the skins we added in.
